Flamingo Chicks is an inclusive dance charity based in the UK that champions disabled children and those with illnesses, offering them the opportunity to enjoy ballet and movement alongside their peers. With a strong focus on inclusion, the charity provides free, accessible classes that blend creativity with physiotherapy-informed exercises, often supported by volunteers and peer mentors. Their outreach extends to schools, hospitals, and community settings, and includes advocacy work to challenge stereotypes and promote disability rights. Flamingo Chicks also supports parents and carers through campaigning and resources, aiming to break down barriers and ensure every child can thrive through dance.
Their active learning sessions combine the joy of dance with a STEM sub-theme, creating immersive, sensory-rich experiences that spark curiosity, reinforce learning, and inspire active participation.
From exploring the physics of nature to journeying through space, classes bring STEM concepts to life in a way that is engaging and accessible for all children.
We are supporting Flamingo Chicks in piloting a new Education Coordinator role, designed to enhance and facilitate STEM learning activities across the charity’s programmes.
