Job Description

The Spectris Foundation is a charity incorporate organisation registered in England and Wales with a charity no. 1195233. We were established in July 2021 by an endowment of £15,000,000 from Spectris.

Our Mission is to support organisations that enhance STEM knowledge, skills, and discovery for learners and educators globally, ensuring that talent and opportunity are nurtured regardless of background.

We believe science, technology, engineering and mathematics education (STEM) is fundamental to the wellbeing of the world. We need STEM skills and knowledge to solve problems facing us all, so high-quality STEM education benefits both individuals and society. We know that many young people face barriers to accessing this education.

The Foundation is recruiting a new trustee for an initial three-year term, with the option for reappointment to two additional three-year terms (up to a maximum of nine years) by mutual agreement.

We are particularly interested in people with skills or experience in:

  • STEM education and youth engagement expertise
  • Practical STEM sector experience
  • Safeguarding knowledge and expertise
  • International perspective
  • Diverse backgrounds (perspectives and lived experiences, helping to ensure our Board reflects and understands the communities we seek to support)

Location: London/ Remote

Remuneration

This is a voluntary position. The Spectris Foundation will reimburse reasonable expenses such as travel costs and caring responsibilities to attend foundation meetings or events.

Hours: 5.00 per Month
